One of our clients is considering the possibility of certifying a new airport terminal using LEED and asked us to perform a preliminary evaluation of the potential LEED score.

Our project is building adjacent to an existing building, and will connect to it via a pedestrian bridge. Between the two buildings are several existing, older trees that are required to remain.

We have a site that is 19.1 acres, which equates to a cost of $332,798.40 at $0.40 / sf - a substantial cost for 1 point.
Preserved for the life of the building?

Does restored area have to be preserved for the life of the building, as v2009? It appears this is no longer a requirements in v4. Can any one confirm?
Is previously agricultural used area considered disturbed?
